Are you a beginner? You can implement these steps even if you are a beginner, I made this post for a beginner on what are the steps you'll have to take & when in order to start your Amazon FBA business.

If you're a beginner don't worry just read this post and implement it.


Note: Please take action if you have learned something new. Try to implement that knowledge because, at the end of the day, only action brings results. I see many people they are stuck at learning. 

Don't stick with only learning, try to put the knowledge into action. This simple thing can bring a massive change in your life.

1. Find Your Why -

This is important because when you will feel demotivated and I'm sure when you're building something big and valuable it is normal to happen so; at certain points of your life you will feel demotivated and you don’t want to move ahead. 


When you know your reason or your purpose why you're doing “Amazon FBA business” then you can motivate yourself and you will be able to propel yourself to take action and move ahead.

If you want to win only then you must know your purpose why you're doing or why want to do Amazon FBA business? When you know your ‘WHY’ it is easier to figure out the ‘HOW’ and keep moving ahead no matter what obstacle you will face.


Because in life losing isn't an option, either you will win or you'll learn. 


2. Decide Your Company or Brand name -

If you want to sell successfully on Amazon India or Amazon Japan then you'll have to register your brand name then only you can build your own private label brand.

One more thing, I want to add before registering your company name you will need to check Trade Mark of that name (whatever name you chose). In other words, sometimes the name you choose has already registered. The name that you choose for your company or personal brand must be unique.

So, first, check the name that you want to register, then register your brand name.

3. Sell on Amazon Individually -

If you're a beginner then you don't need to register your own Limited Liability Company (LLC). You can sell on Amazon as an individual or sole proprietorship. Start your income today with Amazon FBA!

This is for beginners only. When you'll have enough money then you can build your own private label brand.


4. Ready Your Documents -

You want to sell on Amazon India or Amazon Japan then what are the documents you'll need in order to open your Amazon seller account. Put together all your documents and complete the procedure.

5. Do Product Research -

In this step, you'll need to find profitable products because if you sell those products that the market wants to buy then you can start making profits within a month. 

On Amazon, your success depends on what kind of products you sell.  Better research equals better profits here.

You need to find low competition products so that you can easily rank on the top of Amazon search results and ultimately you can drive more sales. Sounds interesting?

Tips: Your success depends on your product and most of the time new seller's don't do product research and end up facing failure. 

Amazon is all about what type and what quality of your products you sell on Amazon that will decide your success on Amazon FBA Business. So please choose your product wisely. Make sure to keep the market requirement, quality and type in mind!

6. Make Custom Products -

If you're really serious about Amazon FBA business then you must create custom products according to your customer’s requirements and problems.


By following this method you can remove competition in your niche. Custom products give you an edge over exsisting sellers. The have better sales and profit. Not to mention they help you promote your personal brand or label.

But if you're a beginner then it would be hard to create a custom product because it requires more investment.

Here's what you can do?


Start selling products that you have researched and generate profits and reinvest the money in creating custom products and sell the product on Amazon.

You can sell your custom products at a premium price because you're providing high-quality products. 

If you have a budget to create then you can launch a custom product.

7. Source The Products from India/China -

If you're selling on Amazon India then you can source your products from India. If that product is manufactured in India, it will be easier for you to start selling on Amazon and launch your first product on Amazon.

If you're not able to find the manufacturer in India then you can go on Alibaba and source your product for China.

Here are some following tips you can follow before you source your product.

  • Find the manufacturer, not a trader. Always source your product from the manufacturer because Traders have a higher price than the manufacturer. 

  • Supplier response time, before you source your product always check supplier response time. The response time rate should be more than 70 percent. When choosing any supplier check their response time as well. 

  • Always negotiate not just price but Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ)

Step 8 consists of three parts -

8.1 Order Sample -

Before you give bulk orders of any product you should always order a small piece of the product that you want to order in bulk. This will help you know and check the actual product and its quality.

8.2 Sample Order -

You have to pay around 50 dollars to 150 dollars for a sample (it depends on the product). If your product is too cheap then the supplier may offer you a free sample but you will have to pay shipping charges.

8.3 Large Order -

Placing a larger order is the next step. This will help you have a stock of the product that you are going to sell. Afterall, the inital sales matter a lot! It can vary on your budget but when you give large orders make sure you order at least 300 units. 300 units are good to start but I recommend you to place an order of 500 units if you have a good budget for selling your product.

9. Verify the Sample Quality -

In this step, you will need to check the quality of the sample. 

You can order a sample from different suppliers and compare those samples and wherever you find that this supplier is providing quality product then you give bulk order form that supplier. This will ensure you are selling quality product and getting customer satisfaction. You can also compare prices and other details of the product.

10. Create Amazon Seller Central Account -

In this step, you will have to create a seller account on Amazon India or on whatever marketplace you want to sell your product. Just register yourself as a seller on Amazon!

In India creating an Amazon seller account is Free, but if you want to sell on Amazon Japan or the USA you have to pay the monthly fee.


What are the things you will need in order to open your Amazon Seller Central account:-

1) Active debit or credit card.

2) Bank Account; Saving A/c or Current A/c.

3) A soft copy of utility bills such as Address or Identity.

11. Place Final Order -

Till now you only ordered a sample.

Now that you have finalised the product, its type and had a quality check, you have to order a large number of products. This will be your stock. You can order 300 units or 500 units (recommended).

Step 12 consist of two parts:-

12.1 Pay The Deposit -

In this step, you will need to ask your supplier ‘how much I need to deposit?’. It varies on supplier to supplier; I pay 30% and the remaining 70% I pay later. I recommend you don't pay a deposit of more than 30 percent.

Ideally, you can pay after you have recieved profits from the sales of the product.


12.2 Don't Pay 100% Upfront -

Some suppliers can say that you have to pay 100% but personally, I don't pay 100% and if you want to know how I pay Alibaba suppliers then you can read this post, in this post I have mentioned a step-by-step process how you can pay Alibaba supplier.

It is necessary that you take care of these things, keep them in mind and work on them to have successful and profitable Amazon FBA Business.

13. Take Professional Product Photos -

In this step, you have to take photos of the product that you want to list on Amazon. The better the pictures, you will have more leads and sales. Visuals play an important role in letting customers believe that you are selling genuine and quality products.


The sample you can be used for sample product photography or showcasing your product. 

You will need to hire a professional photographer for taking photos of your product.


14. Create Amazing Product Page -

You need to optimize your listing so that it will be able to rank on the first page of Amazon search results. 

You will have to write excellent titles and meta descriptions of the product so that the customer will buy from you only. 

These tiny things can impact your sales so don't underestimate the power of tiny improvements. Keyoword research and r

knowledge about consumer psychology is essential here.

15. Create Product Launch Strategy -

After listing your product on Amazon you have to do marketing of your product so that you can get your initial reviews of the product. You can use social media, coupons, discounts, and giveaways for marketing your product. Try to reach out to a wider base of audienc. The more the merrier!


A perfect launch makes you thousands of dollars.


16. Hire an Inspection Company -

When your product will be ready for shipping then the supplier will contact you that your product is ready for shipment. 

Then you will need to inspect your product before shipping. So what you can do is hire an inspection company that will inspect your product on your behalf and will give you a report of product inspection. 

After the inspection, you can pay the remaining balance to your supplier. 

If you want to sell on the Amazon Japan marketplace I highly recommend you inspect all the products.


17. Create Shipping Plan And Ship Your Products To Amazon Warehouse -

In this step, you need to create a shipping plan. I have written a separate article on this topic so if you want to read it then you can. You should definately read the article if you are a first timer!

Ask your supplier to ship the product directly to Amazon warehouse house or you can hire a shipping company for the shipment of your products. This will make your task a less of a hassle.

18. Launch Your Product -

Now, in this step, you need to launch your product by using the right strategy. In the above step, I mentioned that you need to make a launch strategy for your product. So it's time to use that strategy. 

Make sure you have a marketing budget for the product launch. It's necessary.


19. By Advertisement on Amazon -

You can use Amazon Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising and other advanced marketing and get your product on the first page of Amazon.

Marketing is essential for any business so you have to do marketing.

If you do a perfect launch + amazing marketing then money will definitely come into your bank account. The prefect recipe for passive income here is an impactful launch with a pinpoint marketing strategy to generate sales.

20. Rinse And Repeat -

After successful launching now you have to repeat the same process and scale your Amazon business because real money is in scaling your existing business.
